Storm Hy-Road 40
$1.00
Heavy oil lanes call for a dependable ball like the Storm Hy-Road 40. This pearl reactive with an A1S coverstock and Inverted Fe2 core offers medium-high hook and steady backend read for bowlers at any skill level.
When the lanes are heavy, you want a ball that can handle the oil without losing shape. This one moves through the heads with a smooth skid, then snaps with a predictable arc on the backend. It’s solid for league players and casual bowlers who need reliable carry in tough lane conditions.
Under the cover, Storm went with the A1S Pearl Reactive coverstock paired with their Inverted Fe2 Technology core. The Power Edge factory finish keeps the surface polished but with enough grit to grip heavy oil. The RG is 2.57 and the differential sits at 0.046, which means the ball offers a medium-high hook that’s controllable without being overly aggressive.
If you want something that reads the midlane well and still flips strong off the breakpoint, this ball fits the bill. It’s available in a wide range of weights, so you’ll find what suits your style. This isn’t a ball for dry lanes, but on heavy oil, it gets the job done without drama.
